 | Frédérique Callu was born in 1968; she lives and works in Montreuil.
Self-taught, at the age of 13 she worked on silver image Black & White photos from taking the picture to the final print with a particular passion for chemistry and the processing room. Then came colouring with natural pigments, like an imprint placed with a brush, her own colours on the World. It’s an attractive mix that feeds the image and gives it another dimension while retaining the force of its contrasts. Through her travels and urban compositions, she takes us off into a world that is her own, a journey of the imagination through the reality of the world around us.
