 | | He makes up/breaks down and sticks/unsticks topical posters, thus carrying on the quest of the new realists (poster artists) of the 50s and 60s. His works illustrate his vision of the street. With his paper fragments and tears, he gives a sense of intimacy to subjects in the public domain and makes them part of our inner selves. The face, a figurative component, is the central point on which he bases the composition of his work. The fragments of paper that he selects, superimposes and tears thus form a multicoloured patchwork that allows his collages to veer towards the pictorial. His works radiate strength and depth in a dialogue with light. The viewer’s eye is captured by this play on the perception and haunted by this highly seductive object. |
