Growing up in the 80’s the Anglo-French New Pop Artist Le Markee has developed a kind of “cultural dyslexia”, where pop, classic and punk influences
translate in his work through the use of flashy primary colors and contrasted exposures.
His Pop background influences his themes, use of colors and his “out there” spin on things.
His Punk culture gave him the energy, the freedom, the spontaneity and a marked tendency for destruction in general.
From Classical culture, he has the rigor and the strict discipline, which is
the backbone of his artistic expression; The contradictory and yet so basically classical part of him and the highest standard to which he holds himself.
